Dry art is a from of art medium that uses Charcoal, chalk and pastel. I mostly specialized in the use of the Charcoal medium both in black and white. Dry art is main art form right now as I am trying to branch out and try new and different forms of art.

Charcoal Skull

This was my first charcoal drawing that I ever as this piece took me around 10 hours to finish as I went through the piece thoroughly to get most detail out of it as I can. Using a picture of an skull and some guidance from my art teacher I went through the painstaking process of using charcoal willow as an base then coming in a more condense charcoal pencil to detail the skull then finishing the piece with add the highlight through the use of a white charcoal pencil.

Charcoal Side Profile

This was my second finished charcoal piece that I did only taking me around 4 hours to do as this was a simple piece to make. In this piece I only used my charcoal willow and condense charcoal pencil to make it. With the minimal guidance from my art teacher I was able to a stylized charcoal draw of a side profile. I used the techniques that I picked up from my first piece and some techniques that I had made my own, I was able to make piece unique from my first piece.

Charcoal Drawing of an Ear

This is my third finished charcoal piece. This took about 5 hours to make due the complexities of the new technique I was learning through making this piece which was life drawing I had to stay in one position and draw a model of an ear from sight this was at first a challenge for me as there was not a lot of guidelines for me to follow but with some guidance from my art teacher I was able to get as close as I could to match the ear model.

I used the charcoal willow, a condense charcoal pencil and a white charcoal pencil to make something that closely resembles real life as that was goal for that piece.
