Digital Art

Digital art is the medium of uses digital technology to create or plan and process art. For my digital art I use an iPad pro with a apple pen with the pro create app. I am trying to get into digital art more as this would medium is the popular medium to use for comics and manga nowadays.

Character Profile

This was my first finished piece on my iPad Pro. This was a basic character profile which took about 5 hours to make as I was figuring out how to use the software. Using the popular singer David Bowie as an inspiration for the character with the art style inspired by popular mangaka Hirohiko Araki who's manga has been an inspiration to me both in writing and art style. I use heavy use of crosshatching to show heavy amount of detail to both the character and the clothes.

Side Profile

This is my second finished piece using my iPad Pro. This piece is a simple side profile drawing and took about 2 hours to make which a is substantially less time than what it took for me to make the first piece. This a drawing of Kenzo Tenma who is a character in one of my favourite manga's called Monster created by Naoki Urasawa who's writing style has impacted mine massively. In this piece I started to form my own art style although it's a long way to go I hope to one day master my art style.

This time around I used light crosshatching only using it to indicate shadows.
